Friday already????

I can't believe how quick this week has been! Jacob had his school sports day on Wednesday afternoon and it actually stayed dry!

He loved it and it was quite entertaining watching them all.

I have had quite a lot of sewing to get on with this week.  A lovely Etsy customer asked me to make her two items for her new home.  Here is a sneak peek.  ( The lady has seen this already by the way).

I love these fabrics and different tones of grey.  It is just so sophisticated looking!

I have also been busy with these little lovelies.   Liberty and linen are perfect together.  The Liberty is from Ali at Very Berry Fabrics.  They arrived super quick and beautifully packaged.  These are for something smelly for my little shop!   Soon to be revealed! ( I got a mini charm pack of liberty in pinks).

And last but not least I got some happy mail today from Sew and Quilt.  A great shop with lots of lovely vintage style fabrics.

I am still shredding.  Day 24 today  and fourth day on level 3.  Still a sweaty betty but still weirdly enjoying it!  I am managing to keep eating healthily too amazingly!

I plan to measure my waist etc at the end of the 30 days and then I will probably do it all over again or get another similar dvd.  I have a lot of weight to lose though so will need to keep it up!  One result so far is that my clothes are most def looser.  I have a pair of trousers that I wear all the time and today I was doing the laundry and they fell down!  So I am happy so far but still early days!

Have a wonderful weekend!

A trip to a castle and bee blocks!

Hello!  Doesn't today feel like Monday??  But guess what it is Tuesday!   I hope everyone had a fantastic bank holiday weekend and ordinary weekend.

We had planned to visit Stirling Castle on Monday.  However, having checked the forecast, we discovered it was to be heavy rain all day.  So we decided Sunday looked a better day.

I am so glad we went on Sunday.  It was dry and warm but a little grey.  It did brighten up towards the end of our visit though which was very welcome indeed!

The kids had a ball and so did we.  It was worth the admission and there is even a Tapestry studio in which they are replicating tapestries from hundreds of years ago.  You can see them at work but you have to be quiet!

I think these are the Ochil Hills but I am having that info verified by someone who knows more than me!

I have also been sewing like a bee today.  I got Catherine's lovely bee blocks finished for the month of May. Hope you like them!

I am still shredding away and done day 22 today.  I am on level 3 which is really hard but I am managing to do it and kind of look forward to doing it!!! weirdo I know but getting fitter and very very slowly loosing a little weight :)

What is it they say? Slow and steady wins the race!
Off for today to collect the children from school.  Take care.

Friday finishes and spam (not the mystery meat)!

I HATE SPAM!  Both the tinned meat and the internet type.  Lately I keep getting lots of annoying spam comments on my blog.  I get great satisfaction in pressing the "remove forever" box on blogger when deleting these comments.

Why do we get them?  Where do they come from?  Can anyone tell me??

Some finishes this week amazingly....

Baby Churn Dash ( for sale in my Etsy shop now)

And a Bee block for the lovely Sarah who is Queenie this month over at the Hipbees!

I am off to tidy up my mess and get ready for the kids who will make a mess of their own in around 15 minutes!

We are planning to visit Stirling castle on Sunday or Monday so look out for some obligatory photos of me standing next to some cannons etc with the kids!

Speak soon

busy as a bee

Oh dear blog friends I have been neglecting you and I am so very sorry!  This week has been too busy for my liking.  Grass to cut, exercise to keep up with ( day 19 now!), kids to raise, sewing, visit to my mum yesterday, Sport's day tomorrow etc, etc, etc.!

So something had to give and unfortunately  it was the blog for a few days :(.  Never fear though because I have been sewing and thinking about sewing.

The baby churn dash is almost finished.  I am hand stitching the binding down just now and then after a wash and dry it should be ready to be added to my Etsy store!

I quilted this one in an echo of the plaid fabric.  Time consuming but lovely.

I was working on a commission order for a cafetiere cosy last week for a lady in New Zealand.  Can't wait to hear from her!

I also ordered some beautiful, soft Kona cotton solids which make lovely linings in my camera cases among other things and some more to add to my stash.

I have lots of new projects in my head at the moment but no time to start any!  Isn't it always the way?

Anyway I will be off for now.   Hope you are enjoying the slightly warmer weather!

getting there!

Hello everyone!  Can't believe it is Wednesday already and I haven't blogged yet!  Sorry folks.  It is almost Quilt Market too.  Looking forward to lots of photos.

I am still at my 30 day shred and healthy eating plan.  Today I done day 15 at level 2 ( third day on this level) and worked myself hard.  Talk about sweaty bettty!  I am getting fitter and stronger though and it feels good.  I am so glad I began this journey and will be carrying on when I get past 30days for sure as I have a lot of fat to lose!

I am finally at the quilting stage of my latest baby quilt.  I am doing a kind of triple cross hatchy pattern to emulate the plaid pattern.  I love the softness of the colours in this.

I am still beavering away on the hand quilting in my beautiful Hipbees quilt.  I love how this is looking!

Bee blocks will be the next job this week so I will share these with you once I make them! Lol.

Have a great Wednesday!

Too long!

Hello everyone and sorry for my lack of blogging!  I had a tummy bug at the beginning of the week but I am feeling right as rain now thankfully!

I have a few exciting things to share with you today.

I took part in the third round of the Modern She Made Swap and received my lovely secret (not anymore) partner package this morning.

A gorgeous sewing  machine cover, large scraps! and zippers.  No excuses now about not having zippers to try a zippy pouch!

My second piece of exciting news is that I am part of a wonderful new charity bee organised by Lynne from Lily's Quilts.

I am sure many of you have heard of Siblings Together and possibly even contributed a quilt or block or two.  Last week Lynne put a shout out for anyone who wanted to help so I jumped at the chance to sign up and help.

It is such a great cause and you can read more about the background behind this here.  I can't wait to get started!

Have a lovely weekend everyone and hopefully I will have my completed baby churn dash quilt top to show you in a few days!!

Sun !

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a fantastic bank holiday weekend. Especially those of you that got sun!  We didn't up here but today we do.  It is a truly, lovely Spring day.

Today I completed day 10 of my new workout wearing some new trainers hubby treated me to.  Although today I wasn't too great at the workout as I was kind of recovering from a tummy bug from the weekend but nevertheless I did it!  I have never ate healthier also!

Last week I was working on a custom order for a lovely lady in New Zealand.  I was also trying to get this baby quilt top finished up.  My baby churn dash!  I still have 30 odd blocks to do but I am going to push forward this week and hopefully complete it!

I am loving how my Hipbees quilt is looking too.  I made the long drawn out decision to handquilt her and I am so glad I did.

So that is me and what I have been up to over the last week or so.  Hope to keep more up to date this week!
